German Academic International Network (GAIN)

The German Academic International Network (GAIN), based in New York, supports German academics in North America who wish to learn more about career opportunities in Germany and Europe. In addition to providing information and organizing regional activities, the network organizes the largest conference for German scholars abroad every year. The GAIN annual conference is held alternately on the west and east coast of the USA. It is attended by renowned players, institutions and universities of the German higher education landscape. The scientists have the opportunity to inform themselves about return possibilities and to establish valuable contacts in lectures, workshops and at booths.

Dual career support plays an important role for many potential returnees. For this reason, the DCND will be represented at the GAIN conference with a booth and a workshop since 2011. Its participation is supported by the GAIN network.
